Then and Now

I like the boldness and permanence of oil on wood. These pieces are quite large, with bright colors and strong graphic shapes – alternative worlds filled with cultivated fields, fruit trees, stylized rivers, oversized flowers, unusual creatures and inviting pathways.

I’ve always enjoyed studying the landscape from a scientific point of view, looking at strata and rocks and mountains and the way the water shapes the land. Whether looking at the world from the air or from underground, I try to create vibrant, active paintings that are full of color and life.
