SPECIAL PROGRAM: This workshop is part of the Art Retreat for Educators and includes some special programming of interest to educators. If there is space available in May 2020, we will open spots for non-educators.
White line woodcut is a technique developed in Provincetown in the 1920s. Inspired by European modernism and American crafts techniques, Blanche Lazzell and others developed a simple process that combines printmaking and watercolor painting. Students start by carving linear drawings into a woodblock and then learn to print multiple colors from the block. With a few simple tools, this process is easy to continue beyond the class.
