Take your design skills to a new level, and develop your personal style in this versatile medium. Working primarily with Mexican smalti, spend the first day refining design ideas and transferring them to wood panels. Students will learn to cut and place the glass tiles to best emphasize the movement, textures, and compositional elements of each design. Explore color, value relationships, shapes and balance throughout the process of fabrication. On the last day, students will grout their mosaics while learning about color choice and types of grout. Students should plan to work on a 9” X 12” panel. Basic frames will be available for those who would like them.
